Definition: A person might touch something that gives off ionising radiation and so be exposed to radiation, which is a big health risk. Objects can also be exposed to radiation such as cameras, computers, etc. Radiation can go through those objects, potentially damaging them. Radiation can indirectly affect a person even if they don't actually touch the source, they could just be walking around where radiation has taken place. The radiation still present can still go through them and be absorbed, they are still exposed to the health risks associated with radiation.
