Definition: Food production capacity is the ability of different regions to produce food - this could be crops like vegetables and fruit or rearing livestock for meat. Climate change is having an impact on some regions' food production capacity – for example, torrential rain, severe electrical storms, and drought caused by rising temperatures. They can all lead to crop failure.
