BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Transgenics definition

Definition: It is a process of artificially transferring genetic material from one organism into an individual of another species. For example, Genetically Modified plants. They are easy to grow and are usually more resistant to pests. Their genetic material was modified by transferring from another organism.
