BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Windbreaks definition

Definition: Windbreaks: A field in a farm may be surrounded by a hedgerow or a row of bushes which act as windbreaks. They stop the wind from picking up soil and blowing it away. Basically, they reduce wind velocity by creating a barrier against it.
