BSL Physics Glossary - radiation - definition

Translation: Something that has energy gives out radiation. The energy travels out from the centre. For example, a fire gives out heat energy. If you get near, it's too hot. Stand back and you can feel the radiation of heat energy. The sun sends out radiation too. It's warm on your face.
