Translation: Emulated empathy is when an AI system produces language that sounds caring, supportive, or emotionally aware, even though it does not experience feelings. The system learns patterns from training data about how people talk about emotions and uses these patterns to create responses that seem supportive. It imitates empathetic language, but it does not experience real empathy.
