Description: Extreme weather events are severe weather events that are rare and not typical for that particular part of the world and time of year. The characteristics of these events vary from place to place. Extreme weather events include intense storms, heavy rainfall leading to floods, droughts, heatwaves and wildfires. They often have a significant damaging impact on the environment, ecosystems and human populations.
