BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Leaf Cover definition

Description: Leaf cover is the amount of leaves that cover the tree canopy. One way of measuring this is to use a drone and take photos from above the trees, looking down on the branches. Using mathematical analysis it's then possible to work out how much of the canopy is still visible from above and how much is obscured by leaves i.e. how much leaf cover there is.
