Description: A Plant is a living thing. Unlike animals or people, plants can't move. For example, trees are rooted in one place and so are grasses and flowers. Plants produce their own food through photosynthesis; they convert the water that they draw from the ground and combine it with carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce sugars (glucose). This is important because animals that eat plants consume that energy, which is then passed on up the food chain. Plants also have another crucial role to play - they capture CO2and convert it into the oxygen (O2) that we need in order to live.
