BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Soil Structure definition

Description: The particles in soil vary and combine in different ways. In soil that is healthy there are spaces between particles and therefore room for air and water to move through it. This allows plants to take root. In soil where there is no room between the particles, plants can't take root and water cannot penetrate, which makes the soil unhealthy.
