Description: Water is essential for life here on Earth. The chemical formula for water is H₂O. Water has no smell or taste and it's transparent. It can be in the form of ice or a liquid, or a gas (steam). Water forms the oceans, lakes and rivers and is a part of our bodies. 71 % of the Earth's surface is covered by water (the rest is land), which is the same percentage of water that makes up the human body!
