What was best about the event?

Being able to experience the tech with headphones. Q&A session.
Presenters were very approachable and helpful with any questions. Presentation was comprehensive.
Opportunity to hear through headset connected to neck loop, hearing how different inputs and speakers were interacted with.
Live demo of equipment is brilliant.
There was a lot of new information that I learned. Systems have moved on since I was at school and it was good to get up-to-date information.
Discussion and hands-on tech. Questions answered very helpfully.
Excellent informative presentation. Good mix of theory and practice. Enjoyed hands on demo of technology.
Explanation of the different type of hearing loss and the opportunity to test the demonstrated kit for myself.

What, if anything, could have been included in the event?

Perhaps other products eg soundfields.
Not for the session today which included a really good overview – perhaps in future sessions cover examples of different solutions with visuals/diagrams if that makes sense. Eg student A had these requirements, Student B … and this is what we did. Today’s session was excellent, lots to think about.
Maybe more opportunity to try the equipment, set up etc.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

More hearing tech updates like this. Opportunities for people from FE/HE to meet and collaborate with ToDs etc.
Captioning.
More like this, but also importance of deaf culture, deaf awareness. Other examples of assistive tech for deaf students.
