Good to hear what other are doing. Using subtitles for transition videos is a useful idea to consider with our young people.
More ideas for videos using close-captioning.

I'll be passing on some of the info to an S6 leaver. Looking forward to the NDCS article re online working. Sharing info with colleagues.

What was best about the course/event?

Sharing ideas.
Getting to hear from more experienced colleagues.
Having speakers from outside school education system. Also learning new skills on captioning.
Knowing that other teachers are in the same position. Learning from what works.
Love the speakers, the chat function and seeing so many ToDs engaging and connecting online.
It was actually not really relevant to me as a PSA but I can appreciate the value of it for teachers.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Perhaps too early as there are so many unknowns even now.
Nothing.
Other video conferencing formats appear to be better for viewing more than one thing at once.
Nothing. Happy with it all.
Too wide an age range of transitions to cover within the time. Might have been better to split into 3 groups.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

Opportunities for ToD discussion on best practise.
Something similar regarding schools going back, specifically for peripatetic teachers.
Assessing support for pupils and how we make our role relevant. Keen to learn how other ToDs are adapting practice during Covid. Would be great to have a session where we can have more chat between participants.
Update on temporal processing and auditory processing with implications for education.
Something on the current situation and the issues specifically pertaining to deaf pupils of differing ages returning to school.

Any comments on the technical aspects

All went smoothly for me
Videos froze a lot but I think that was down to problems on my end!
I think it is working well but I am not using the captions or the interpreter so can't comment on that.
Difficulty with seeing interpreter/lip patterns etc at same time as viewing slideshow. I do not have a hearing loss but it helps to see lip patterns of the person speaking, moreso over technology.
All worked well.
No subtitles available and some speakers lacked video for lip reading access.
