Will you do anything differently as a result of this webinar?

Yes, I will do this with some of our students.
More small group work with chances for discussion and feedback.
Set up a group in the Autumn term.
Begin to run a Smile Therapy Group.
Definitely. I now see how to run the therapy modules, and have started to think about which students I could use it with.
Yes - I intend to use this as a framework for helping pupils develop a bank of positive social interactions.
Will be more confident to try some of the therapy and where appropriate continue training.
I really liked the checklist so I plan to use this as a baseline assessment for some individual children who will begin in August.
Be confident to deliver a module and also to explain the rationale behind the approach to others.
Unfortunately this training wasn't applicable to my practice. It would have been very useful to state in the course descriptor that this therapy is aimed at children aged 7+. As an Early Year Complex Needs teacher this approach was not appropriate and could not be used with the children I support. (2)
Review the upcoming QToD intervention schedule in the schools that I support.
Will look to introduce it into the school programme.
Continue to offer social skills groups.
Look more at functional communication and less help from well-intended adults supporting young people.

I appreciated the opportunity to link with other practitioners (2) and hear how they may utilise this therapy within their settings.
Pace was good and took time to explain concept.
The information presented that was new to me.
Seeing the improvement made in the videos.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the webinar?

Bit shorter.
More room for small group discussion.
Second session could have been a morning again like the first.
It would be nice to be face to face if at all possible.
More video of the actual group sessions to see how the practitioners facilitate the sessions - the role plays and feedback.
More time to chat with others present.
Clearer description (2) around what age and stage the training was aimed at.
Faster paced in some areas.
More information given on the flyer about the event.

Technical Feedback

How would you rate the webinar technology? 4.4/5

Any comments on the technical aspects

All good and appreciate the screen breaks and the clear instructions for joining - all went more smoothly than any other course I have done :)
Zoom cannot be accessed on the [our council] devices so could only use personal phones which was not very practical.
