This course examined the effect of lockdown on the development of babies and pre-school children.
It considered Theory of Mind and social development in children who are deaf, with reference to research, assessment and practical strategies that can be integrated into everyday life at home and pre-school.
It aimed to leave participants equipped with knowledge and skills to coach parents in fostering this important aspect of social development in their children.
The session included a 30 minute workshop 'Planning a Theory of Mind activity'.
Teachers of the Deaf (ToDs), Speech and Language Therapists, Audiologists, Early Years practitioners, parents.
Frances Clark is a senior Auditory Verbal Therapist and Clinical Lead at Auditory Verbal UK. She has a keen interest in Theory of Mind development. She is the author of Violet's Story, focusing on Theory of Mind development for children who are deaf. She has presented on Theory of Mind in Auditory Verbal Therapy in the UK and internationally.
