Will you do anything differently as a result of this webinar?

No.
Yes - some really useful resources for speech discrimination with babies.
Share practice with staff.
The ling test and understanding using the hearing age as opposed to the DOB.
Not really. Confirmed some of my current practice. Some of Peter's reflections are on cases from long ago when h/a technology was very different. He barely mentioned the L-M-H test; would have been good to hear his views on current research rather than the past. And the Ling test isn't a game. Games are activities that both parties are doing for intrinsic enjoyment. Children know it isn't a game.
Consider assessments I use with CYP.
Yes, I will use the Ling sounds test in a more strategic and solution focussed way.
More speech discrimination tests; use dotty audiogram; share with colleagues.
Start to use the test materials and sheets.

What was best about the webinar?

Recap of assessments to use.
The whole thing was very informative.
Detailed handouts and the way Peter delivered the course was excellent.
The simplicity of explaining quite tricky things.
Nothing in particular.
Very comprehensive presentation.
The sharing of a life time of experience.
All extremely interesting.
Consonantal audiogram and its uses.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the webinar?

It was advertised as Ling 6 but sadly he only got to speaking about that with 4 minutes left. The rest was too technical and not practical enough.
No improvements with content - would have liked it have been longer :-)
I could have stayed on for longer.
I feel that Peter isn't necessarily reflecting current research eg still believing that children benefit from listening in noise.
Pacing.
N/A (2)
Just a little more time to fully complete the end part of the presentation.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

More Ling training.
Another APD session; the UCLH presentation was excellent but posed lots of questions.
Use of symbols with CYP who have sensory loss. Some poor practice out there.
CVI; always room for more of that.
Research on speech discrimination eg Southampton CI centre.
Early years interventions
MSI - assessments; curriculum; activities

Technical Feedback

Any comments on the technical aspects

No; all good.

All clear and worked well.
