I already do a lot regarding dyslexia, but I got a few more ideas to look into from this.
Further reading.
Be more mindful of risk factors as part of assessment process.
I will follow up on some of the research readings and some of the resources discussed.
Thinking about how to emphasise family's engagement with sounds without getting them to start Phonics too early - and possibly badly.
Keep up with the research being done and link to Dyslexia Team, which has just been established.
Discuss the different types of dyslexia with other professionals.
Revisit phonological input.
Prof Herman is so knowledgeable and easy to listen to.
Very clearly presented research.
Clear, well presented study results.
Presenter's expertise in this field and discussion of such up to date studies in an area where very little research has been done before.
A very thorough, systematic examination of a specialist aspect of learning delivered by an expert.
The research being done and the findings.
Evidence based practice.
Highlighting that dyslexia can occur in addition to deafness.
Nothing. Well timed and good to have a chance to ask questions
A little more detail about possible interventions.
I didn't realise that we would be looking at the findings of a study (maybe I misread the blurb). I would have liked more strategies to tackle dyslexia with deaf learners. Perhaps more about the resources available and how to use them.
