with Auditory Verbal UK
Presented on Tuesday, 7th September 2021
We have all moved to a virtual world where online therapy is becoming the norm and hybrid services may become the new normal.
Attendees joined us for an interactive presentation and discussion with practical examples that explored telepractice techniques, tips and research. We reviewed videos of children who have received online services and heard from parents regarding their experiences. We considered how to assess children's listening remotely, plan age-appropriate activities for children under the age of five and make screen time a positive experience for parents of children who are deaf.
Larissa McColgan has completed one year of Advanced Training towards Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) certification and shared her experience of AVT as well as those of parents receiving AVT in Scotland.
There was the opportunity to ask questions regarding telepractice, parent coaching, Auditory Verbal Therapy and training.
"Frances and Maria Vittoria's section was very interesting and useful, and [parent's] take was amazing."
"Really interesting and well organised."
