Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?

Yes - I will signpost parents to support.
Consult with parents prior to meeting on where they'd like to speak, ask individuals present to explain why they are at the meeting.
Be more aware of signposting Enquire to parents and pupils.
Look back at Enquire website.
Ask Enquire to speak in my local authority.
I would use the helpline if needed.
Share the information with colleagues.
Read the updates to the 2004 Act.
Find out more about 'Enquire' as would be a great link for my parents/carers.
No.
I would have preferred if the presentation was provided with the content then the questions so that there was more understanding of the content before answering questions.
May use Enquire website to look at resources they offer.
Better informed to offer advice and know to use the Enquire website/helpline for answers.
Know how to support parents better.
It was really a refresher for me and an opportunity to make sure my knowledge was current and accurate - so it won't change my practice.
To be honest I didn't learn anything relating to children with additional support needs and how to take the needs forward etc.
Feel more confident about explaining legislation to parents/carers.
Share with others.
Visit the Enquire website more regularly and keep myself informed on guidance/updates

What was best about the course/event?

Simple run through and questions after.
Signposting to resources.
Information about Enquire.
Mentimeter - despite issues!
The interactive questions.
I liked the interactivity aspects of it - made it easier to follow.
Liked the questions and submitting answers, unfortunate that tech let the presenter down.
Reminders regarding our duty under the law.
Very informative, liked the interaction with Mentimeter.
The helpful information.
Well presented
Q&A facility is always great.
Questions and answer section.
The interactive nature of it.
Easy access onto the course.
The multiple choice questions - made me stop and think.
Very clear and good to be interactive.
Use of question and answer to engage participants.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Right options on Mentimeter!
Nothing.
I came away not learning anything new about how to support sensory impairment specifically. The focus was too general and was going over policies that are already widely known. I would have liked to know some specific techniques or resources to help support sensory impairment.
More information specific to Vision issues raised by parents.
I felt it was very rushed and by the time I had accessed the questions we were onto the next set. I couldn't concentrate reading the questions and listen to the presenter at the same time.
I felt we never really touched on visual/hearing impairments as I thought we would. Felt it wasn’t as I expected as I thought it would be giving us ideas/ resources for dealing with additional support needs in our settings.
Unfortunately I couldn't access the additional software.
I don't think the course was easy to learn from as it was just talking exactly what the powerpoint said, which made it harder for people to read when there was a voice on top of that. I also didn't find any ways on how to support the children in my setting and I feel this course didn't have anything relating to visual or hearing impairment.
More targeted information on particular sensory impairment issues.
