Practical examples of adapting PECS for children with VI.
Having visual examples and answering questions from the chat as it was occurring.
References and links.
Examples of tactile pictures/ tips for VI learners.
How to adapt PECS for CYP with additional needs who have a 'VI'.
Photographs of example as well as the presenter showing versions.
Practical examples - to see PECS used with young people with differing needs.
The enthusiasm and knowledge of the presenter.
It has given me a better insight and understanding of what and how PECS is/works however, there was a lot of information to get in so there were times when it felt a little rushed. But I fully understand that Andy was trying to give us as much as possible in a short period.
More videos with clear audio.
More information about adapting for sensory impairment.
It was a shame there was no audio for some of the slides but having the links means we can watch them later. Thinking about children within my own setting, PECS would be extremely useful although there may be issues with dexterity in physically moving pictures but using this format on an ipad may be a way around this.
Although this had a focus on VI, it was pretty obvious to enlarge and make the pictures tactile. I think it needed more detail on how to teach those and the steps before as a child would not recognise a tactile symbol without the experience of the object first.
A bit more time to digest what he was telling us.
Don't know - it would be good to know that information was going to come out automatically rather than asking Jenny for it.
Nothing extra - would have been great to have sound on the videos to make those examples clearer.
Nothing else. (2)
Introducing braille to dual users.
CVI (Cerebral Vision Impairment).
A follow up to PECS.
Not sure at this point but think you are doing some amazing webinars at present and look forward to the ones that are to come. THANK YOU 😍
