Have a greater understanding of learners I meet with CHARGE.
Useful for my practice moving forward.
I am going to reflect on the session and discuss with school and family particularly around multi sensory approach.
I am more aware now of the every day challenges faced by children with CHARGE just to get through the day.
Lots of things to monitor as my child grows.
Would like to review the references mentioned/ made me think about the true nature of "multi sensory" as not just meaning vision and hearing but affecting other senses and sensory processing.
I understand more. I await part 2 before I can answer this fully.
I will be developing proforma's to look at the whole child in a family centred approach.
Consider all of the child's needs and work together with professionals.
Already had a good overview of Charge Syndrome great to be reminded that its impact is wide ranging looking forward to the next presentation.
I have a significantly increased level of understanding about the broad impact of CHARGE and will apply this to my work with my learners with CHARGE in mainstream schools. This will help me to support their teaching and support staff to understand this and how it impacts access to learning/social interactions on a broader scale than just a straightforward sensory impairment.
Follow up some of the references; Share the material with class team of child with CHARGE; Review the Learning Pyramid and share with others.
Greater understanding of needs other than HI and VI.
I work with a preschool pupil with CHARGE and didn't fully appreciate how complex the syndrome is. I now have a much greater understanding which will influence how I meet that pupil's needs.
Yes, we are already discussing expectations and adaptions.
Yes get more information about the pupils I teach with CHARGE syndrome.
Provide better support and understanding for staff education children with CHARGE.
Yes, I am now aware of the range of factors to consider, alongside deafness. This will help me support the child and family in a more informed way.
I have a much better overview of the needs as a QTVI and the issue of balance and vision was particularly relevant.
Try to gather fuller medical information on which characteristics of CHARGE are most prevalent in pupil we work with as now much more aware of how some of these can impact so many areas of learning.
A hugely knowledgeable speaker.
Very clear and interesting presentation of information.
Making a complex syndrome understandable.
Lots of information given in a clear easy to follow way.
The host was clearly extremely knowledgeable and had examples to help bring this to life.
Clear presentation and holistic approach to children with CHARGE and their families from an experienced professional with huge experience of working with the children. Balance of medical information and social emotional aspects was also very good.
Warm, human, little anecdotes, slides supporting presentation (rather than information just read) but clear slides. Interesting for the whole session (I wrote notes to keep me focused and constantly had things to note down!) I didn't know much about CHARGE and feel so informed, not just medically but in wider sense which will help support whole families when I come across this syndrome again.
Clear and detailed slides & pictures - lots of information and examples.
Gail's immense knowledge.
The clarity of the presentation from Gail who is a national expert on the subject.
The combination of visual slides and Gail's discussion was balanced well. Having the slides afterwards to refer back to and refresh my memory has also been very helpful.
It was all excellent! Informative, backed by experience and research.
Lots of relevant info.
Learning about the wide ranging features of CHARGE syndrome and the impact on child's ability to function. Looking forward to the next session.
The speaker's passion, knowledge and empathy, together with the calm and unscripted though clearly planned & structured presentation (and only essential info' on slides) meant I was totally engrossed & couldn't believe how quickly the time went, especially after a long and busy day. It was informative from beginning to end - thank you!
The level of content and information.
Very clear and informative.
The content was incredibly gripping. Gail Deuce was a very charismatic presenter too, so informative.
All of it - just the right length. I liked seeing the photos - as I have only ever met one child with Charge.
So informative without bamboozling me with lots medical terminology. Was well explained and presented. Really looking forward to the follow up session.
Some pre-reading would have been helpful to get the most out of the session.
Looking at different ages & stages of development.
A 5 min break.
Due to being deaf, I needed subtitles. This resulted in there was a lot of text to process from the presentation, the subtitles and the information. But I wouldn't want to be less informed in order to balance this.
Keep up the good work of providing training in this field.
All good.
It was brilliant, thank you!

Some slight issues with people leaving microphones on but that was helped after a reminder.
This was targeted at medical professionals with a lot of medical terms, as a parent it was hard to follow the more technical parts.
All good.
Only not to move papers near the microphone and keep an eye on accidental unmutings! ;) But actually really excellent actually thank you - high class, smoothly run, professional, easy to be a part of. No complaints - well done.
All problems or difficulties were resolved quickly.
Apart from other auditory interference - need to ensure participants have their microphones turned off.
Please could Gail wear a separate microphone so that there isn't so much interference from her papers.
Some minor issues with the microphone at times.
Perhaps a reminder to all participants to have microphones off as I think sometimes some people had them on and it caused a bit of interference.
