Join us for an online workshop to see how you can share complicated climate science in an accessible way for students with additional needs. Empowering them to take positive climate action and make changes to your school grounds, homes and community spaces. We will share techniques and guidance that you can use, making your schools and the planet a better place.

Sensory Trust is a leading authority on inclusive and sensory design. The aim is to create meaningful and lasting connections between people of all ages and abilities and the natural world.

As a national charity Sensory Trust run funded projects and deliver consultancy and training. They take a grass roots approach through community projects, product design, consultancy, training and publishing free guidance and resources. On any given day they could be facilitating a dementia friendly walking group, supporting families to enjoy a woodland trail, advising on inclusive sign design, reviewing design drawings, or conducting an access audit.

Sensory Trust have a strong legacy of working with special schools to enhance their ability to engage with, and learn about, nature. Through projects such as Nature Friendly schools funded by Defra, Sensory Nature Activities and Play (SNAP), and their latest work on Climate Cooler Schools they have improved school grounds through interventions and created inclusive learning resources. They believe in a hands-on multi-sensory approach ensuring that all students can be part of the conversation and gain benefits from the natural world.

Lynsey Robinson and Rosie Johns, Sensory Trust

Lynsey heads up work with communities, young people and their families, and schools, using inclusive, multisensory opportunities to connect everyone with nature and the outdoors. Lynsey's work ensures that communities are inspired to engage with the natural world, making positive change together. With a background in design, Lynsey is passionate about creating inclusive nature-based opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy.

Rosie leads on the development of learning and training resources for special schools, engaging special school children and teachers with nature and the outdoors. As a former special school teacher, Rosie brings a wealth of expertise in working in schools and with children and young adults with autism. Rosie's skills with photography and film-making are shining through in our new film-based teaching resources and activity ideas.
