Scotland has embarked on a model for reviewing the curriculum. This takes around ten years to complete and is known as the Curriculum Improvement Cycle.

This webinar will provide Teachers of Visual Impairment, VI Service Managers, Qualified Habilitation Specialists and national stakeholder groups and organisations with an opportunity to learn about the Curriculum Improvement Cycle - what it is and what it means for parents and families. It will help staff begin the process of considering how they can best support children and young people with visual impairment, parents and families understand the curriculum reform to enable them to support their children's learning at home.

The session will focus on:

Target Audience

QTVIs, Heads of Sensory Services, Qualified Habilitation Specialists, 3rd sector charities supporting Children and Young People with VI and based in Scotland.

Presenters

Dr Beverley Ferguson is an Education Officer in Education Scotland. Working closely with Scottish Government colleagues, local authorities, universities, stakeholders and national parenting organisations, she provides expert knowledge and advice to promote cultural change and improvement in line with current educational policy.

Susan Doherty is a Development Officer in Education Scotland. She works collaboratively with partner and stakeholder groups across Scotland to drive forward improvements in engaging parents and families. Susan provides expert knowledge and advice to practitioners and educators on family learning.
