What was best about the session?

The honesty and openness of Gemma was much appreciated and provided a real insight into the personality changes that can occur after such an event.
Gemma was talking through her lived experience which was invaluable and her tips on working with people with face blindness will be something I take forward.
Gemma sharing her personal experience and providing strategies that worked from her own journey.
Gemma had so many interesting points from her lived experience and had clearly done research so that she could include other relevant clips to enhance points she was making. Her delivery was excellent and the pace gave me time to make note of what she was saying but without lingering. I thought she was fab and felt really inspired by the presentation.
The point of view of the presenter.
What a brave presenter to allow us to see her when she had moments of difficulty linked to her brain injury. She showed that this is a part of who she is and did not shy away from the task at hand. So helpful and truly impressive.
Hearing though Gemma's lived experience.
Obviously the fact that the presenter spoke from personal experience was the stand out factor, however, aside from that the presentation was clear, followed a logical structure, gave space to think and consider and signposted to appropriate resources that were diverse.
Great to hear lived experience.
Descriptions.
Personal experience.
I loved the presenters style, Gemma came across as very natural, informed and very easy to listen to and understand. She is a wonderful speaker!
A real Life story.
Lived experience.
Hearing first hand from a person that has experience with CVI.
Listening to lived experience - this offers genuine insight into how my professional practice can and cannot be of value.
Hearing about Gemma's experience and what helped her most. Plus advice for working with people with brain injuries.
I particularly enjoyed Gemma's discussion around DIY support for speech, and the DIY mirror therapy.
Hearing the lived experience of having a brain injury.

What, if anything, do you think should have been included?

I can't think of anything else that should have been included.(11)
More time for questions.
Possibly some considerations linked specifically to Habilitation delivery (although appreciate not everyone that attended was a Hab/rehab specialist!)
I think the webinar was very clear and informative.
Due to the limited time instead of mentioning some theoretical elements (diagnostics) a how do I cope with Brain Injury in daily life would have been amazing- what works, what didn't work.
It was great.
Nothing. Perfect in length.
Not sure? The content proved very helpful.
I could have listened for longer.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

A course on visual stress would be beneficial.
I feel there is a lot of training on what CVI is but I would still like training on suggested activities to do with pupils who have CVI with complex needs.
Any areas on personal experience of vision impairments.
Progressive loss. Emotional impact.
Any follow up on CVI.
Communicating devices for children with multiple/ complex needs and severe Vision Impairments
1. Further training around brain injury. 2. Cerebral vision impairment within the habilitation process. Further training associated with habilitation and complex needs - the training provided, so far, by SSC has been excellent. 4. Wheelchair mobility.
More speakers with lived experience.
