Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?

I use music to engage with pupils but will pick up ideas to enhance from videos. Will also share with my team.
1. I would discuss the importance of safeguarding and physical touch to staff working on musical activities with children and young people due to heightened awareness and understanding. 2. I would recommend parents/practitioners use The Amber Trust online videos as a source of information/advice. 3. I would recommend The Amber Trust as a source of funding for instruments/music technology lessons. 4. I will signpost families to the new project being launched in autumn to provide concert tickets for young people with neuro-degenerative disorders. 5. I will further research opportunities and training related to musical activities for children with MDVI.
I don’t teach music but can encourage and promote and sign post.
Will keep up to date with The Amber Trust app.
It opens up access to new resources and support for us as a school to support all our learners.

What was best about the course/event?

The presenter was clearly very enthusiastic and experienced. I loved seeing him working with a pupil on video. Great to see the potential in giving children with VI access to music sessions.
1. Videos demonstrating good practice. 2. Access to an expert in his field. 3. Opportunities to ask questions. 4. Remote access - good use of time and saves travelling.
Learning about resources and seeing impact and skills of young people.
The presenter.
It highlighted the availability of help and support and encouraged a positive mindset for creating provision for all our learners especially those with extra challenges whether sight impaired and or other additional needs.

Any comments on the technical aspects

Only not giving 5s to reflect difficulties with videos - but to be expected and was soon sorted.
Good problem solving and pre-planning demonstrated by the organisers to enable the videos to be streamed by them when the presenter had technical difficulties.
Problems with videos to start. The presenter handled it well.
Video didn’t work.
Slight technical hitches with the videos but its not a problem as they can be accessed on the website at any time. Great job by the team, thank you.
