A Beginners' Guide to supporting Deaf Learners with Assistive Listening Technology

This 1-day course was designed for support staff, mainstream teachers, teachers of the deaf that are new to the profession.

The course involved both a taught and practical component. We began by exploring:

The course then looked at case studies which helps to put the theory into practice.

Finally, there was a hands on session with the assistive listening devices. Participants learned how to check hearing aids, set up and check assistive listening devices in the classroom and re-tube ear moulds.

Target Audience

Pupil Support Staff, Communication Support Workers, mainstream teachers, teachers of deaf children & young people that are new to the profession and speech and language therapists.
