This Journal Club will meet once or twice a term. Each session will have two leaders who will facilitate the discussions in the main room and break out groups. Reading articles will either be articles in Deafness & Education International or otherwise open access. This was the third meeting of the Journal Club after our first meeting in June 2021. Details of the reading are below. All attendees were required to read the article in advance.

Patrick Rosenburg is a qualified deaf teacher of the deaf working at University College London as a post doctoral researcher. He is interested in understanding more about the interdependent relationship between signed language and spoken language through different modalities. Patrick is currently funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to continue his studies on language comprehension skills in deaf children. He will be working on translating an American Sign Language (ASL) assessment task that measures deaf children's comprehension skills in ASL into British Sign Language (BSL).
Themes will be guided by the leaders for those sessions. We will draw leaders from recent PhD graduates and PhD students studying in these areas as well as advanced practitioners.
