This course was aimed at Heads of Sensory Services and Service Managers who are not specialists in deaf education.

This session identified key elements of the role of the teacher of the deaf that will support heads of service in the planning, implementation and monitoring of support provided to deaf children and young people.

In addition the session explored the impact of deafness on learners of all ages and provide information about the specialist aspects of meeting their barriers to learning, and will also address the implications and challenges for leaders and managers of services supporting this group of children and young people.
