Will use otter.ai mentioned by Conor.
Explore more of the apps described by Conor to aid speech recognition within the classroom. Review our service's auditing of teaching spaces/ appropriate additional listening devices.
Brian's presentation was glitchy, which did not help, however it was all about the physics rather than the practical element. I am a ToD, not an Audiologist, and feel I did not need to know most of the stuff Brian was talking about. Conor's presentation, while well intentioned, has already been covered by other presenters various times since August.
Review knowledge and use of captioning and other speech to text software.
More awareness and possible use of Otter in classes.
Always good to get input on this fairly new way of supporting our pupils. Good to refer to the handouts.
No for first presentation. However, I will look at the information about online platforms.
I am already a convert to Soundfield but I was very interested in the features of resources mentioned by Conor.
I will share the information with QToDs and students I support.
Not really as I found the webinar too technical for me as a classroom teacher. I had hoped to find out more about strategies or things that I could make a difference with. These issues raised should be targeted at powers that be that have the resources and the power to change the classroom environment.
I am not currently in a position to change things myself but I will include my new knowledge in advice I give teachers as an EAL teacher.
Will help supporting those older pupils who have at time found accessing remotely difficult.

All of the presentation was interesting.

Second presentation much better and clearer than first one.
The resources as well as the research on soundfield.
The enthusiasm of the speakers
The delivery style.
Helpful information.
The title was misleading. I was looking for practical strategies about improving listening in the classroom for deaf learners. Bit disappointed.

I found the level of the initial input from Brian interesting but the pace was very quick.
From the description, I expected it to be about practical elements - how to better manage to blended learning, how to support our pupils in class from various barriers - masks, open windows and doors, less paper resources, etc. Instead, I felt none of it was relevant at this point.
More specific details on how a ToD could improve the acoustics in a classroom; use of assessments like LIFE, further training on acoustics, recommendations to mainstream teachers
No.
Focus on the second presentation to look at other examples or open up for discussions to share questions and ideas.
It was hard to hear and understand, ironically. The content was hard to follow.
The level at which the first presentation was pitched was too high for my practical purposes.
Slower pace of the speakers.
The information sent out could have given a clearer idea of what the content was and who it was aimed at.
Sometimes a visual demonstration of a point being made or summarising it can be helpful.

When and how to best offer BSL to families.
Deaf Education - policy, BSL Act.
Practical use of other programmes which could be used via Google - eg:Jamboards / Screencastify etc.
Early years language development.
Assistive listening devices: range available, suitability for different ages/additional needs/settings.
Training for teachers in the classroom that is practical and relevant to supporting pupils.
As an EAL teacher I would be interested in any input about deaf children acquiring additional languages (spoken and signed).
Topics around audiology use of radio aids.
How would you rate the webinar technology? 3.4/5
Sound quality, initially, wasn't great.
Brian was very glitchy; I feel that was his own WiFi as Conor was fine.
Some drop off in sound but subtitles helped.
Poor sound quality, apart from the woman hosting.
Sound quality of both presentations was very poor.

I had connection problems and eventually got locked out. I am not sure if the problem was at my end or yours.
