What was best about the course?

New content/trying hardware (will never pay for expensive hearing aids).
Learning and thinking about the experience of deaf/hard of hearing staff and students.
More information about hearing aid solutions/mechanisms, the experiments.
Pacing and the encouragement to ask questions throughout. Encouragement at the end to discuss and good way to bring together part of the day. Also getting chance to use some of the tech itself.
Practical demo by specialists and up-to-date news and trends from the sector.
Learning about technologies - eg hearing aids, in room tech etc. Being able to get better understanding of what deaf/hard of hearing students experience.
Very useful overview of assistive technology and how hearing aids actually work.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

The overall picture in Scotland (No of students/people in general that require support).
Not sure what you specialiase in but always interested in visual impairment and what this means for web accessibility.
Training for teachers on creating accessibile materials and inclusive environments, sharing best practices.
Deaf awareness for teachers and teaching support staff - I'm sure this already exists.
Any other assistive tech.
