Held on Tuesday, 18th February 2020
In this course Susan Doogan led a full day of learning about Neuro-typical sensory/motor development and the challenges that children and adults face with DCD.
Participants had the opportunity to experience what it feels like (physically and emotionally) to move through the world with some of these challenges to give a small glimpse of how it feels for students with DCD.
Susan used case studies to help identify what specific behaviours/difficulties may indicate in the learning environment and provide low cost/low time-consuming strategies.
Teachers (special schools/mainstream), speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, support staff, parents/carers, and anyone who supports children and young people with a sensory impairment.
Susan Doogan, Paediatric Occupational Therapist, and founding Director of Motorvate Therapies
