Presented on Thursday: 21st January 2021
In this session, Place2Be offered teachers the opportunity to increase their knowledge on the ways in which anxiety can impact learning and day-to-day functioning. We explored childhood disorders focusing on anxiety particularly in the light of COVID-19 pandemic.
Teachers were asked to consider what is meant by anxiety, to challenge their own beliefs and assumptions surrounding anxiety, and recognise and understand the emotions and feelings within themselves which help in the identification of early warning signs of anxiety.
Teachers were given the chance to reflect on anxiety they may be holding from their work with pupils with visual or hearing impairment.
Key outcomes for this session:
Teachers of children with visual impairment, teachers of deaf children, class teachers, support for learning teachers and assistants, educational psychologists, social workers, and parents/carers.
