"I think it is a very important area because so much development takes place well before school, both in terms of vision and generally. I do think, at times, it is an area that is not always covered in great depth in training. I think it also has a role in helping build relationships with children/families which matter a lot later."
"I think maybe at this stage independent living skills may be really important in terms of learning to take the risk to move, to try things for themselves? And reassuring parents that their child can do things for themselves safely."
"Nothing specialist, encourage to make your own from household items."
"I tend to use what baby is familiar with if it is there. Reassuring for parents that they are providing the stimulation baby needs etc."
"I suggest parents close their eyes and feel toys and objects so they can develop vocabulary for describing them to little ones- to help their language and concept development."
Coffee mornings and playgroups are a great way to keep in contact and foster links. Plus networking and moral support for parents. Virtual possibilities while restrictions are in place.
