We already use our tracking and observation but would be good for the VI to provide their findings using your methods.
I intend to revise some of the 'paperwork' I use for home working to include some new ideas.
Consideration of home visits and use of programmes/resources.
Be more aware of the fact that parents and carers may be overwhelmed by the number of visits and appointments they have and arrange joint visits where possible.
A few new ideas from video I would like to try.
I will be adding a few new pieces to my home visiting kit.
Look at EEC for Early Years, especially the 4 areas mentioned in the video.
Use some of the websites and blogs suggested.
I think I realised that I understood fully the role of the QTVI in the 0-3 age range already and that we are quite fortunate in the way we operate in Dundee. However, it was interesting hearing what other people did and took with them on visits.
Make the room more simple decorate, have more black and white spaces.
To listen to others ideas and opinions.
It was very interesting to hear what different authorities do when working with children aged 0-3 and to get some new ideas for improving my own practice.
Sharing ideas and strategies with colleagues.
The reassurance that the approach I am taking is similar to that of other VI staff.
Reassuring to know we’re doing similar things to other TVIs.
Hearing what colleagues have been using on their home visits.
The opportunity to collaborate with such a larger number of colleagues.
The videos.
Collaborating with other QTVIs in Scotland through the SSC.
Being able to watch video and get some idea; then getting chance to chat with others in different fields working with children with visual impairment.
More ideas to support children with VI within the playroom.
It was a huge topic that probably needed longer, but as it stood it was very helpful.
The connection. I think the technology is fine as it has been used before it just didn't connect as well today. Perhaps the focus should not have been on the role of the QTVI but on what is essential for the QTVI when working with the 0-3 age range?

How was your experience of accessing the course via Collaborate? 4.6/5
How would you rate the webinar technology? 4.2/5
Sound can be a bit crackly at times but considering so many others accessing.
The sound and images can be a bit tricky, but I think that was due to users having microphones and cameras on.
The sound was quite glitchy even using chrome.
My experience with the technology for this particular webinar was not so great this time. The video and the sound were not synced and it just lost something when we were not able to see Elizabeth. Thankfully the chat room was working.
