Jenny Morrison, Specialist Teacher of Autism, SSC invited Ian Bell, formerly Leader of the Visual Impairment and Autism Project to present this webinar. The project resulted in the production of guidance materials for Visual Impairment and Autism, which was the focus of this webinar. Ian had an interesting and varied career, training as both a teacher and a speech and language therapist.

Ian has a wealth of knowledge to share from his experiences working with autistic young people with co-existing conditions.

In this webinar Ian made reference to the guidance materials and highlighted those of most importance to education practitioners.

Presenter

Ian Bell was initially a teacher of children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), specialising in communication. As a speech and language therapist he specialised in visual impairment, working in a school for children who had severe visual impairment and additional disabilities.
