Enthusiastic presentation and great first hand experience.
Knowing that there are clear links between VI and ASD and now have access to a wealth of resources that I can try with my students. In 19 years I have supported 6 VI students in mainstream settings who have also demonstrated ASD.
I am unsure, it was not what I expected and the structure was difficult for me to follow.
Gaining insight from a word renowned professional.
Excellent examples of practice with Autistic children from the Presenter, which made this subject relatable.
Reassurance of my own practice being appropriate.
A few more practical tips.
The focus was on learners with autism but not specifically with a vision impairment too. The presenter spent too much time setting the scene for the project he described rather than giving practical examples and suggestions for practice.

Lived experience and the use of identity first language when talking about Autism. It would also have been helpful to hear how things had changed compared to 20 years ago and to hear how they are taking a more neuro-affirming approach. I also thought there would be more actual guidance and that it would be specific to Scotland or UK rather than generalised as our guidance across UK differs significantly.
An open discussion at certain points would have been useful. This may have helped the Presenter to understand our level of comprehension.

How to support young people with functional vision loss/MUVL.
I would like to be included in any training relating specifically related to Septo Optic Dysplasia as I support a student with this condition. I was surprised to see that in the study presented today, 5 out of the 14 students had this condition also.
Speakers who are disabled.
Any training related to CVI.
Developments in Surgical Techniques e.g. Age Related Macular Degeneration.
Assessment tools / techniques re CVI - what are people using to assess both dorsal & ventral functioning.
