What was best about the session?

Practical skills that I can use in practise.
Practical examples, solid developmental theory and networking.
Having hands on experience using the assessments & chatting to other teachers from different local authorities.
Non standardised assessment ideas.
Hearing all the knowledge and expertise.
I enjoyed all the information shared today.
Networking and hearing what others are doing.
Very practical ideas for assessing children and young people as well as those with complex needs.
Balance between developmental overview, assessment and profile writing.
Presenters knowledge.
Finding out about other FVAs that we don't have in our local authority and networking with other VI teachers.
Learning about the different functional assessments based on behaviour.

What, if anything, do you think should have been included?

A bit more demo-ing of FVAs before practicing ourselves.
A proforma on areas to cover which could be used as a basis for all pupils. The Developmental Journal and the Oregon Project are predominantly for learners with VI and no other needs but these are very few and we need something that could be used with learners with VI AND ASNs.
I'm happy with content.
Everything was useful.
